Dr. Ali El Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), participated today in the first preparatory sessions of the fourth edition of the Al-Ahram Pharmaceutical Conference, organized by Al-Ahram Foundation under the chairmanship of Dr. Mohamed Fayez Farhat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahram Foundation, and Mr. Maged Mounir, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ahram newspaper, with the honor of Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El Din, Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention, Dr. Adel Adawi, former Minister of Health and Chairman of the Conference, Dr. Ayman El Khatib, Vice Chairman of EDA, Dr. Hisham Badr, Vice Chairman of the Unified Purchasing Authority, and representatives from the pharmaceutical sector, as well as a number of representatives from the pharmaceutical industry.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority expressed his keenness to participate in the preparatory session of the conference, and thanked the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahram Foundation and the Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ahram newspaper for the generous invitation to this event, noting the coordination and cooperation between all state institutions to support the Egyptian health system with all its components.
He stressed that the conference is one of the most important national conferences specialized in the pharmaceutical sector, and one of the strongest conferences during the past few years, due to the pivotal pharmaceutical issues discussed every year, and it provides a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences, and to meet with decision-makers in the hospitality of an ancient press institution that has its weight, positive impact and unique credibility with the Egyptian and Arab public opinion, and the conference contributes to coming up with appropriate recommendations and solutions to the issues raised annually, and that the outcomes of previous sessions resulted in a package of solutions and policies that successfully contributed to eliminating many challenges that were facing the pharmaceutical sector.
This comes within the framework of the EDA's continuous endeavor to enhance all means of cooperation in the field of medicine and healthcare, and to emphasize its national leadership and its continuous efforts to achieve solidarity between all parties in the health sector to achieve better and more effective health care for every patient, and its appreciation and pride in the important national role played by press institutions to support the process of the Egyptian pharmaceutical system, encourage the national industry, and develop the pharmaceutical culture among the Egyptian citizen."
