Egyptian Drug Authority Participates in Roundtable at Galala University to Strengthen Pharmaceutical Partnerships
Dr. Tamer El hossieny, Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), participated in a roundtable held at Galala University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shenawy, President of the University; Prof. Dr. Maha El-Rabbat, Member of the Board of Trustees of Galala University and former Minister of Health; Prof. Dr. Amira Abdel Motaal, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; and Prof. Ming Xu, Dean of the School of Global Health at Peking University.
This participation comes as part of the Authority’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with academic and international institutions, supporting the development of innovative solutions in the pharmaceutical sector.
In his remarks, Dr. Elhossieny emphasized that this forum represents a strategic platform for enhancing scientific and applied cooperation between Egypt and China. He stressed the importance of building international pharmaceutical partnerships based on knowledge transfer and technology localization, contributing to the advancement of the healthcare system and achieving tangible positive impacts on patient health at both regional and global levels.
He further noted that the global pharmaceutical landscape is undergoing rapid transformations that require the adoption of flexible and advanced regulatory models. He highlighted that the Egyptian Drug Authority continues to develop pathways for international accreditation and recognition, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Egypt’s pharmaceutical sector.
Dr. El hossieny added that investment in scientific research and innovation is the cornerstone of building a sustainable pharmaceutical industry, affirming the Authority’s support for research initiatives that contribute to the development of innovative solutions to address health challenges and ensure the availability of safe, effective, and high-quality medicines in line with international standards.
He also stressed that localizing pharmaceutical manufacturing is no longer an option but a strategic necessity driven by global developments. He reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting this direction by providing a stimulating regulatory environment and attractive investment incentives, thereby enhancing local production and achieving pharmaceutical security.
