The Egyptian Drug Authority Launches a Series of Virtual Forums to Enhance Pharmaceutical Care within the Initiative “An Aware Pharmacist… An Aware Community”
The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) delivered a series of virtual lectures and forums via electronic platforms as part of the activities of the pharmaceutical care initiative in pharmaceutical and drug practices, titled “An Aware Pharmacist… An Aware Community.” The initiative targets community pharmacists working in public pharmacies.
The activities also included the Guide to Guide (G2G) program, an introductory program to the clinical practice guidelines issued by the General Administration of Pharmaceutical and Drug Practices. The program targets pharmacists working across various sectors to ensure the standardization and development of pharmaceutical practices.
The Authority delivered eight virtual lectures covering a range of topics, including: the second and third parts of the Rational Use of Antimicrobials series, breast cancer medications, rational use of diabetes medications, dose adjustment, and the rational use of medications for hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.
In addition, the Authority introduced its published antimicrobial guidelines and showcased the efforts undertaken within pharmaceutical care initiatives.
The “An Aware Pharmacist… An Aware Community” and Guide to Guide initiatives aim to enhance the level of pharmaceutical services and advance the competencies of pharmacists working in various specialties.
These efforts come within the framework of the Egyptian Drug Authority’s ongoing commitment to promoting the optimal and rational use of medicines, and to providing continuous training and professional development based on best practices and global references, ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical care and safeguarding patient safety.
