The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) organized a scientific day to exchange expertise in the field of breast tumors and cancer.
The event brought together pharmacists from various healthcare institutions to share knowledge and experiences in breast cancer management. It coincided with the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month and formed part of the EDA’s Excellence and Knowledge Exchange Platform initiative.
The scientific day aimed to enhance pharmacists’ skills and promote the exchange of expertise among specialists in this vital field. The sessions included presentations of several clinical case studies and discussions of appropriate clinical pharmacy interventions, with the participation of leading professors and experts in breast and women’s oncology.
Pharmacists from several healthcare institutions took part, including the General Administration of Pharmaceutical Affairs at the Ministry of Health and Population, the Secretariat of Specialized Medical Centers (Al-Salam Oncology Hospital and Mit Ghamr Oncology Center), the General Authority for Health Insurance (Nasr City Oncology Center), the General Authority for Hospitals and Educational Institutes (Al-Matariya Teaching Hospital), and the Healthcare Authority branch in Ismailia (Ismailia Medical Complex). The event also included representatives from Cairo University Hospitals (National Cancer Institute in Fom El-Khalig and the National Cancer Institute in El-Tagamoa), Ain Shams University Hospitals (Demerdash Hospital), and Baheya Hospital.
This initiative reflects the EDA’s ongoing efforts to improve pharmaceutical and drug services, develop the skills of Egyptian pharmacists, and strengthen the quality of healthcare. It also highlights the spirit of collaboration and integration among state institutions to achieve a comprehensive approach in advancing pharmaceutical practices within Egypt’s healthcare system.
