The Egyptian Drug Authority Participates in the Middle East and Africa Industry Exhibition 2025 to Promote the Pharmaceutical Industry
The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) participated in the Middle East and Africa Industry Exhibition 2025, held from 9 to 11 November 2025, under the patronage and in the presence of H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, and H.E. Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, along with a number of ministers, senior officials, and representatives of national and international organizations.
EDA’s participation reflects the State’s commitment to supporting national industry and strengthening Egypt’s position as a leading industrial hub in the Middle East and Africa. It also underscores the Authority’s pivotal role in developing the national pharmaceutical sector and encouraging investment in this vital field, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian medicines and improving their access to regional and global markets.
The exhibition provided a valuable platform for EDA to showcase its efforts in supporting and localizing strategic pharmaceutical industries. The Authority highlighted its initiatives to foster an attractive investment climate through simplified regulatory procedures, streamlined licensing processes, and the promotion of industrial innovation, all contributing to strengthening the competitiveness of Egyptian pharmaceutical products.
Dr. Osama Hatem, Associate to the EDA Chairman for Policy and International Cooperation and Supervisor of the Central Administration of Pharmaceutical Policies and Market Access, represented the Authority at the exhibition, accompanied by an EDA delegation. They visited several Egyptian pharmaceutical companies’ pavilions to explore opportunities for cooperation and to unify national efforts toward enhancing local pharmaceutical manufacturing and adopting advanced technologies in this field.
The EDA pavilion was honored by the visit of H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and H.E. Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, who reviewed the Authority’s ongoing efforts to empower the national pharmaceutical industry and to develop local manufacturing capabilities in accordance with the latest international standards.
This participation aligns with EDA’s strategic vision to achieve self-sufficiency in medicines and to reinforce Egypt’s position as a regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and export to Middle Eastern and African markets, supporting Egypt Vision 2030 for sustainable development and industrial leadership.
On behalf of Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, Dr. Osama Hatem represented the Authority at the event.
