Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, participated today in the celebration of the achievements of the first phase of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project.
The Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority pointed out that the project faced great challenges during the first phase, which were successfully overcome thanks to the teamwork and harmony of all state agencies, sectors and stakeholders in the health system in Egypt under the wise and supportive leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in order to raise the level of health services provided to citizens.
Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi affirmed that the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project is the strongest in Egypt's history and represents a distinguished protective health umbrella for all citizens, and that the Egyptian Drug Authority is working with the relevant authorities to ensure the project's success in line with the aspirations of the political leadership and the expectations of the Egyptian people.
He pointed out that the Egyptian Drug Authority has strong regulatory oversight that helps ensure the effectiveness and safety of drugs and medical supplies, and ensure their availability to everyone. He also pointed out that despite all the challenges facing the drug sector in Egypt, clear achievements have been made in the field of drugs in the context of comprehensive health insurance. The expansion of health care coverage has increased the availability of essential drugs for a larger segment of citizens, thus improving the level of health care and reducing the burden of disease.
This comes within the framework of cooperation with all health sectors to raise the level of health services provided for patients, ensure the effectiveness and safety of drugs, and make them available to everyone
