Egyptian Drug Authority Implements a Specialized Training Programme on Good Manufacturing Practices in Cooperation with The Netherlands
Within the framework of strengthening international cooperation and institutional capacity building, the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has announced the implementation of a specialized training program on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (BZ) of The Netherlands, and through the Biotech Training Facility (BTF).
The training program was designed based on the Authority’s identified needs and included two tracks (basic and advanced) to accommodate varying levels of expertise among technical staff. It covered a comprehensive range of technical topics related to GMP applications, including the regulatory framework, pharmaceutical quality systems, risk management, change control, deviation handling, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), as well as data integrity principles and regulatory inspections and preparedness.
The program also featured interactive online sessions, providing participants with the opportunity to discuss real-life case studies and exchange expertise with international experts, thereby enhancing their practical understanding of GMP implementation across various operational environments. The sessions were structured to ensure a high level of engagement by grouping participants according to their training level.
This program reflects the Egyptian Drug Authority’s commitment to advancing the regulatory system and developing the technical capacities of its staff in alignment with international standards and best practices, while supporting the achievement of institutional excellence.
The fruitful cooperation with The Netherlands underscores the Authority’s commitment to strengthening effective international partnerships, fostering knowledge exchange, and supporting capacity building in line with global developments in the pharmaceutical sector.
The Egyptian Drug Authority reaffirms its ongoing commitment to adopting initiatives that enhance the efficiency of the regulatory system and open new avenues for international cooperation in training and institutional development.
