The EDA, in cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport through the Biotech Training Facility, organized a specialized training program titled “Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)"
The program delivered comprehensive training content designed in line with the training needs identified by the authority. It included both basic and advanced training tracks to accommodate the varying levels of expertise among the EDA’s technical personnel. The program also covered several technical topics related to GMP applications, including the regulatory framework, pharmaceutical quality systems, risk management, change control systems, handling deviations and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), as well as data integrity principles, regulatory inspections, and inspection preparedness mechanisms.
In addition, the program featured interactive online sessions that provided participants with the opportunity to discuss real-life case studies and exchange expertise with international experts, contributing to a stronger practical understanding of GMP implementation across different operational environments. Sessions were organized to ensure maximum engagement by dividing participants into groups according to their training level.
This fruitful cooperation with the Dutch side reflects the Egyptian Drug Authority’s commitment to strengthening effective international partnerships that support knowledge exchange and capacity building while keeping pace with the latest global developments in the pharmaceutical sector. The Authority also reaffirms its continued commitment to adopting initiatives that enhance the efficiency of the regulatory system and open new avenues for international cooperation in training and institutional development.
This comes within the framework of the Egyptian Drug Authority’s ongoing efforts to advance the pharmaceutical regulatory system and enhance the technical capabilities of its personnel, in alignment with international best practices and standards, and in support of achieving institutional excellence.
