Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, received the delegation of ""Sanofi"" company at the Authority’s headquarters in Mansouria, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in several vital files supporting the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt, foremost among them localization policies and the continued availability of strategic medicines.
The company’s delegation included Dr. Adrien Delamare-Deboutteville, Chairman of Sanofi Egypt and Africa, and Dr. Magued El-Sayed, Africa Head of Governmental Affairs and Market Access.
The meeting discussed the status of Sanofi’s products and operations in Egypt, and the future of joint cooperation regarding localization plans. It also touched on the recommendations resulting from the French President’s visit to Egypt, the follow-up on the results of the Prime Minister’s meeting with the company’s officials, in addition to the discussions held with the Honourable Minister of Trade and Industry to support the pharmaceutical industry file.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening the partnership between the Authority and the company to achieve a balance between providing vital medicines and ensuring their availability to the Egyptian citizen, and the continuation of joint efforts within the framework of the state’s strategy for localizing the pharmaceutical industry and achieving pharmaceutical sustainability.

The meeting comes in the context of the Authority’s keenness to support innovation and adopt flexible mechanisms in market access policies; contributing to the improvement of healthcare quality and enhancing Egypt’s position as a regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and export.
