"Leveraging Good Governance and Digital Transformation Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority Witnesses Signing of a Cooperation Protocol Between DAV and Extendo for Digital Solutions
Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, today witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between DAV and Extendo regarding the electronic registration file project, E-CTD. The protocol was signed by Engineer Hatem Kandil, CEO of DAV for Digital Solutions, and Mr. Martin Schmidt, CEO of Extendo, in the presence of Dr. Adel Adowy, former Minister of Health and Population, and a number of leaders from the authority and the companies.
The protocol comes in response to the challenges facing the health sector, as it allows for the electronic submission of files instead of paper. The electronic registration system facilitates the submission and review of registration files, reducing the time required for new products to be available in the Egyptian market. It also provides accurate tracking of the status of submitted files, enhances transparency between companies and the drug authority, facilitates the exchange of information with international regulatory authorities, supporting the export of Egyptian drugs to global markets, and provides companies with more flexible mechanisms for fully automated data updating and resubmission, enhancing Egypt's position as a leading country in the field of drug regulation and registration, in line with the requirements of the World Health Organization.
In his speech, Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the EDA, affirmed that the Egyptian Drug Authority has an ambitious digitization strategy and is making every effort to accelerate digital transformation and maximize the benefits of digital solutions. This approach contributes significantly to supporting good governance policies and institutional excellence, and organizing the administrative workflow within the authority in line with the latest global developments. This achieves the satisfaction of dealing companies and a rapid response to their requirements, which reduces effort, time, and costs, and leads to companies obtaining good service with high quality.
The Chairman of the authority praised the Egyptian Drug Authority's sponsorship of the signing of the cooperation protocol between the two companies, emphasizing the importance of the private sector in supporting the development of the pharmaceutical sector. He added that partnership with the private sector contributes significantly to driving the pharmaceutical industry forward and achieving maximum benefit for all parties, which ultimately benefits the Egyptian patient.
This comes within the framework of the Egyptian Drug Authority's keenness to enhance cooperation with various international companies and exchange expertise to support drug safety and ensure their safe and effective delivery to Egyptian citizens, serving the interests of the citizen and public health in Egypt.
