The Egyptian Drug Authority announced the completion of the training program aimed to develop the technical competence of EDA employees in sterilization techniques in the pharmaceutical manufacturing field.

The Egyptian Drug Authority - Continuing Professional Development Center, in cooperation with one of the multinational pharmaceutical companies in Egypt organized training program for developing the competence of technical workers in sterilization techniques in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing, which was held for three consecutive days, from January 29 to 31, 2024, at the Authority’s premises in Maadi.

This is within the framework of the efforts of the Egyptian Drug Authority to support and develop the cadres of EDA employees. The training program aims to introduce the basic concepts related to microbiology and its applications in the field of manufacturing, which is the basic foundation for establishing a sterile area in the field of preparation, as well as the mechanism for testing and controlling sterile preparations. Many of the requirements necessary to understand controls and establish sterilization principles for each individual product were also discussed, as well as how to deal with problems that may occur during the manufacturing process.

The implementation of the training comes within the Egyptian Drug Authority’s plan to raise the professional level of all employees of the Authority and keep them informed of all developments in all fields, which contributes to building effective human cadres capable of achieving institutional development and capable to support cooperation with the private sector in light of working to achieve the strategic goals of sustainable development – Egypt`s Vision 2030, by providing training programs, practical workshops, and innovative and intensive professional programs, specially tailored according to the needs of employees of the Egyptian Drug Authority.

This comes as part of the efforts of the Egyptian Drug Authority to support and develop its workforce.
