The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) convened the fifth meeting of the Permanent Committee for the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia with the objective of discussing mechanisms for supporting and providing reference standards required for the development of the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the content of the workshop on the Egyptian Drug Authority's Reference Standards Accreditation Program and discussed the mechanisms for ensuring the availability of reference standards necessary for the preparation and development of the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia.

On the sidelines of the meeting, several separate sessions were held with representatives of both domestic and multinational pharmaceutical manufacturers, as well as representatives of the Chamber of Pharmaceutical Industries, to explore opportunities for cooperation and identify means of maximizing support for the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia project.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration among stakeholders and encouraging active participation in one of the Egyptian Drug Authority's most strategic initiatives aimed at establishing a comprehensive national pharmacopoeial reference aligned with internationally recognized standards.

Participants also agreed to prepare an introductory communication addressed to local and international pharmaceutical companies outlining the objectives of the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia, its alignment with leading international pharmacopoeias, and the benefits that companies would derive from contributing to its development and implementation.
