The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has launched the “Violative Advertisements” List on its official website, providing continuous access to the advertising violations identified by the Authority concerning various medical products. This initiative reflects the EDA’s commitment to enhancing patient safety and protecting public health, raising public awareness of non-compliant advertising and marketing practices, and reducing exposure to unlicensed or misleading content.
The list includes examples of advertising violations identified by the Authority, including unauthorized advertisements for products registered with the Egyptian Drug Authority, which may contain unapproved promotional materials that have not been reviewed or authorized by the Authority. Such practices may result in the improper use of products or expose citizens to potential health risks.
The list also includes advertisements for products that are not registered with the Egyptian Drug Authority, which are promoted through misleading medical and marketing claims. This may lead to the circulation and use of products that are not subject to the Authority’s regulatory oversight or that do not meet the applicable requirements and regulations.
The Egyptian Drug Authority emphasizes the importance of **not being influenced by any unverified or unauthorized advertising or marketing content**, and of refraining from using any product based on unapproved promotional claims. Citizens are encouraged to refer to official sources to verify the registration status of products and whether their advertising has been authorized.
The EDA also calls on citizens to contribute to efforts to monitor violative advertisements by reporting any advertisement or marketing content suspected of lacking the required license or authorization. Reports can be submitted through the “Inappropriate Advertisement” service available on the Authority’s official website, either by scanning the QR code or using the dedicated service link, in addition to the email address pm.complaint@edaegypt.gov.eg , or the Egyptian Drug Authority hotline 15301.
The Egyptian Drug Authority confirms that citizens’ cooperation in identifying and reporting unauthorized advertisements contributes to strengthening regulatory oversight, limiting the spread of misleading marketing content, and promoting the safe and rational use of medicinal and healthcare products.
