Pharmacopoeia Committee Reviews Global Partnerships
The Drafting Committee of the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia convened today at the headquarters of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) in Agouza to discuss ongoing efforts related to the development of the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Tamer Essam, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority; Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs; Dr. Ayman El-Khatib, Vice President of the Egyptian Drug Authority; in addition to committee members comprising professors from Egyptian universities, experts representing a number of governmental entities and institutions, and specialists from the Egyptian Drug Authority.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the latest developments in international cooperation with leading global pharmacopoeias, as well as the key outcomes and recommendations emerging from the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Conference held in Cairo
The committee also followed up on progress achieved in the field of digital transformation, including the establishment of the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia database, and discussed the scientific and advisory services to be provided through the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia in support of Egypt’s pharmaceutical industry.
These efforts are aligned with Egypt’s national strategy to strengthen and localize pharmaceutical manufacturing and to establish the regulatory frameworks, policies, and strategic initiatives necessary to support the sustainable development and competitiveness of the pharmaceutical sector.
